In these strange and unprecedented times, it’s easy to tell ourselves that some things are more important than being eco-friendly. In this blog post, I’ll be reviewing bamboo pocket tissues from The Cheeky Panda*, a company dedicated to making this planet a greener place.
About The Cheeky Panda
Their mission is to bring sustainability to the mass-market in their own fun, cheeky way, and to inspire people to ditch the mundane in favour of a product for our future.
Did I mention that they’re the first tissue company in the UK to be vegan registered, AND they’re family owned?
Are the tissues different to standard pocket tissues?
The short answer is: yes. Whenever I feel a cold coming on, I always reach for the more expensive tissues, to be as kind to my nose as possible. After a few days my nose is red-raw and peeling at the sides. This happens no matter what tissues I buy, but less so with the more expensive types.
The Cheeky Panda bamboo tissues are so soft and kind to the skin! I haven’t had any sensitive skin issues with them at all. On the back of the pack it lists ‘kind to skin’ as one of the top 4 benefits for choosing this brand.
More than tissues
The Cheeky Panda has much more to offer than pocket tissues. They also offer toilet tissues, baby wipes, facial tissues, kitchen roll, dry wipes, and more. All sold in various pack sizes to suit your needs. This means that you could even encourage your employer to switch to this sustainable company.
Where to buy
- You can buy the products directly from The Cheeky Panda site.
- Head to their page on Amazon – where they offer some varied pack sizes and competitive prices.
- Boots lists a few of their items, which could be handy for those of you who prefer to shop in person.
- It’s worth having a look in your local green shops. I spotted in the shop down the road from where I live, Unwrapped, that they had The Cheeky Panda kitchen roll in the window!
Final thoughts
Through the pandemic and the general day-to-day grind, it can be so easy to lose sight of our planet.
The other day I was on my phone and a BBC News push notification dropped down. I’ve been ignoring these lately because coronavirus updates were getting a bit much. But this time, I saw Greta Thunberg’s name and thought – hmm I haven’t seen much from her lately, so I clicked it.
Greta’s words really resounded with me. There are some big and urgent issues in the world right now which we need to fight and make noise about, but we mustn’t forget that fighting climate change is one of them. Making small lifestyle changes, such as sustainable consumerism, could make a huge impact if we each do our part.
Have you ever tried The Cheeky Panda? What changes have you been making to live a more sustainable life? If you have any questions, leave a comment below and get the conversation started!
